Professor Animal Molecular Immunogenetics
Dr. Michelle Corley (email@example.com) – is currently serving as the Interim Chair of the Department of Agriculture. She is a graduate of Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama, is a Tenured Full Professor in the College of Agriculture, with over 20 years of experience in Animal Health and Disease. Dr. Corley’s main expertise is in Molecular Immunology and Genetics; Ruminant Microbiology; Molecular Genetic Screening; and Animal Care and Welfare (dairy, cattle, goats, sheep, and poultry). Her work has focused on genetic disease resistance, particularly to gastrointestinal parasites. Her most recent research endeavor is the development of Omega enhanced goat meat (Omega-Chevon) and the genes that control fatty acid metabolism. Dr. Corley also engages in teaching and research training of graduate and undergraduate students, high school teachers and high school students in the area of Animal Health and Molecular Immunology and Genetics.
